Project:
- Project: Peñiscola Congress Palace
- Year: 2002
- Location: Peñiscola, Castellón (Spain)
- Client: Valencian Government Theatres
- Partners: Giner & Bono
Development:
The building opens up to the public space through a large cover, creating the pedestrian path palace-green space-bridge over l’Éstany-seaside promenade-old town-port. The atrium aligns the palace with the official alignment, serving as a welcoming symbol for the congress attendees and as a receptacle that absorbs the large flow of people that occurs upon exit (arrival occurs gradually). The 50 and 100-person rooms have access to terraces overlooking an interior garden for intermissions.
